Verification
Upon request, the supplier shall be ready to present one of the following, for example:
- Natur och klimatkonceptet [Nature and Climate concept], such as Kungsörnen or equivalent
Information about the criterion
One cultivation concept which fulfils the requirement is the nature and climate concept for cultivation of wheat from contract growers of Lantmännen. The wheat flour may be used in compound products such as bread.
Added values of the concept are increased biodiversity, optimized use of nitrogen fertilizer through the use of censors and no use of straw-shortening agents.
Environmental goals
Motive
Choosing a product produced with less resource-demanding and/or cleaning techniques creates the possibility to reduce the climate impact of a certain product without changing the product group. Choosing the environmentally preferable alternative within a product-group is a way in which the procuring agencies can fulfil their preference regarding the product while assuring high environmental performance.
