Criterion text
For all products in the contract where safety data sheets are required in accordance with regulation (EC) No 1907/2006 concerning the Registration, Evaluation, Authorisation and Restriction of Chemicals (Reach-regulation), from the start of the contract the supplier shall make sure that:
- safety data sheets are freely available and downloadable in Swedish for the customer via the contractor's website or
- safety data sheets are provided in electronic form in Swedish, i.e. by email in PDF format or similar
Proposed follow-up
Take samples of a selection of the products and check that the safety data sheets in Swedish are available for each product in accordance with the requirement.
Motive
In accordance with the REACH Regulation, the supplier of a chemical product with labelling requirements must provide the recipient with safety data sheets. For a large organisation that manages many chemical products and thus many safety data sheets, it is essential that the management of safety data sheets is efficient in order for risk and safety information to reach the user and incidents and accidents can be prevented. Depending on how the procuring organisation works with safety data sheets, any chemical handling systems, etc., ask for downloadable safety data sheets from the supplier's website or for their delivery in electronic form depending on the need.
