Reduced environmental and climate impact from fishing vessels and production facilities
Level: Advanced
Fishing vessels does not only affect the environment trough fishing but also trough discharges from engines and cooling systems. For prepared products, the production facilities of the processing industry also affect the environmental footprint of the final product. Trough requesting that the fish ingredients which are bought comes from energy efficient fishing vessels and production facilities, procuring agencies can contribute to the reducing of other environmental and climate impacts associated with fishing.

- Other documentation showing that the requirement is met, for example a compilation of the amount of fuel that the vessel has held during a year and how much fish that has been landed during the same year (divided by species) with complementary information on coolers and production faciltiies use of electricity.
Proposed follow-up
Control via random sample on delivered batch/unit/package. Request the information from your supplier.
