It is important to avoid the distribution of environmentally hazardous substances in the environment. The requirement excludes products classified as environmentally hazardous.

Criterion text
To be awarded points or price deduction according to the evaluation model used by the contracting authority the following needs to fullfilled:
Products used in the washing process of the laundry covered by the contract are not be classified with the following hazardous statements according to the Classification, Labelling and Packaging (CLP) Regulation ((EC) No 1272/2008), neither in EU-harmonised classification nor in self classification.

Exception:
- Products where the classification is due to the content of Perchloric acid (Cas-no 79-21-0) or hydrogen peroxide (CAS no 7722-84-1).
- Products containing active chlorine used for bleaching in relaundering of heavy soiled1 textile is exempted.
1Heavy soiled textiles refers to for example colorant stains from medicine, coffee, tea, urine, colorant stains from lipstick, antiperspiration, ink etc (category C in Textilhandboken - Avsedd för textilier inom vård och omsorg, SIS-TR 11:2011)
Verification
The supplier shall, upon request, be able to present any of for example the following:
- Ecolabels fulfilling the requirement, for example:
License in accordance with: Nordic Ecolabelling of Laundry detergents for professional use Version 3
License in accordance with Good Environmental Choice for Chemical products, version 2018:1
- Safety data sheets for the products, stating that the products do not have the classifications stated above.

Labelling
If the requirement is verified with a label, check that there is a valid license for the product in question. This can be controlled here: Nordic Ecolabelling (Nordic Swan), Good Environmental Choice.
Safety data sheet
This requirement can be verified with safety data sheet for the product. See section 2 “Hazard(s) identification” in the safety data sheet, the hazardous properties of the product are listed here. Check that none of the specified hazard classes / hazard statements in the requirement are listed here.
Information about the criterion
This requirement is formulated as an award criterion. The supplier who meets the criteria will be rewarded by added value during the evaluation of the tender. It does not exclude suppliers who cannot supply products meeting the requirement.
