Energy efficiency class tumble dryers
Energy-efficient dryers ensure low energy consumption, thereby reducing the environmental impact through their use.
- Technical specification
- Tumble dryers
Tumble dryers must meet at least Class A+ energy efficiency for tumble dryers in accordance with regulation (EU) No 392/2012 supplementing Directive 2010/30/EU of the European Parliament and of the Council regarding energy labelling of household tumble dryers.
- Energy label in accordance with regulation (EU) No 392/2012.
- Other documentation that shows the energy labelling class, such as information sheets

Information about the criterion
A new proposal for energy labelling of tumble dryers was submitted in July 2019 but has not yet been adopted as an updated regulation. The criterion will be updated with an energy efficiency class in accordance with the new regulation when it comes into force. Until then, the energy efficiency class according to the current regulation will apply.
Energy use in the user phase is part of the environmental impact of the appliance. Buying energy efficient tumble dryers thus reduces the environmental impact from the user phase.
The version date indicates when the sustainability criterion was created or last updated. Last reviewed dated tells when we last checked that the sustainability criterion still is relevant.
