Emissions of carbon dioxide from fossil fuels for production of process heat and electricity used at the manufacturing of printing and copying paper shall be calculated according to EU Ecolabel criterion 1c for graphic paper ((EU) 2019/70) and shall not exceed:

  • 1100 kg CO2/tonne for paper made from 100 % de-inked/recycled pulp
  • 1000 kg CO2/tonne for paper made from 100 % chemical pulp
  • 1600 kg CO2/tonne for paper made from 100 % mechanical pulp

The actual emission value shall be calculated as the sum of the emissions from the pulp and paper production, taking into account the mixture of pulps used.

To be awarded [points or price deduction] in the evaluation of the bid, the supplier shall confirm, in the bid, that emissions of carbon dioxide from fossil fuels for production of process heat and electricity used for the manufacturing of printing and copying paper does not exceed 300 kg/tonne of produced paper, calculated according to EU Ecolabel criterion 1c for graphic paper ((EU) 2019/70).
