Noise level (washing machine)
A good acoustic environment will contribute to the users wellbeing. By setting requirements for noise level, noise can be reduced and therefore improve the acoustic environment.
- Technical specification
- Washing machines
The noise level for washing machines must be no higher than 76 dB (A) when spin-drying.
The supplier shall, upon request, be able to present any of for example the following:
- Energy label in accordance with Commission Delegated Regulation (EU) No 2019/2014 supplementing Regulation (EU) 2017/1369 of the European Parliament and of the Council regarding energy labelling of household washing machines and household washer-dryers
- Information from the EPREL database (European Product Database for Energy Labelling) to ensure that the noise level is in compliance with the requirement.
Ensure that washing machines supplied under the contract meet the noise level requirement. This can be done, for example, by checking the energy label or by requesting information from the EPREL database.
Information about the criterion
The noise level/airborne acoustical noise is also stated as classes on the energy label.
According to the new scale, noise class A and B satisfies this requirement. Class B covers the 73-76 dB(A) range, but the noise level is also shown on the energy label.
Noise level or noise does not have an environmental impact, but it affects the work environment or the sound environment in the home. The sound that is not desirable for a listener is called noise. Noise can be harmful to hearing, disturbing, cause different physiological reactions and cause sleep disturbances. It can also make work tasks more difficult to perform and thus impair work performance. Therefore, noise level requirements when appliances are procured for use in workplaces as well as for use in households in new construction and similar are important.
