Criterion text
The projector must be constructed in such a manner that disassembling is possible. This entails that:
- Anchorage points are easy to find and reach, and standardised as far as possible.
- Anchorage points are easy to disassemble with common tools.
- Plastic parts over 100g must be manufactured with only one polymer or a compatible mix of polymers.
- Plastic parts over 100g are not to contain moulded or glued metal inserts, provided that this is not evident by the disassembly instructions that these can be removed with common standard tools.
- There is an instruction or information on how disassembly should be implemented.
Verification
The supplier shall, upon request, be able to present a verification, for example one of the following:
- Disassembly instructions, demonstrating that the items above are met.
- Technical documentation, demonstrating that plastic parts over 100g are manufactured with only one polymer or a compatible mix of polymers.
- Valid license for example the following label:
- Nordic Swan Ecolabel for TV and projctors, generation 5.0 or later.
Proposed follow-up
Labelling
If the requirement has been verified with an Ecolabel check that there is a valid ecolabel license for the product. That can be checked: Nordic Swan Ecolabel
Note that the Nordic Swan Ecolabel criteria for TV and projectors will expire June 30th 2023, but the products can be marketed with the label until January 2024.
Disassmbly instructions
If the requirement has been verified with Check that the dissasembly instructions check that they clearly show how to disassemble the product for recycling.
Technical documentation
If the requirement has been verified by technical documentation, check the documentation to ensure that plastic parts over 100 grams only consists of one polymer or a compatible mix of polymers and that there are no moulded or glued metal inserts.
Information about the criterion
According to the WEEE-directive (2012/19/EG) substances, mixtures and componets listed in Annex VII must be separable.
Motive
The requirement aims at increased reuse and recycling of products and materials and thereby lead to a circular economy.
